Safeguarding

At the Parish of West Buckrose we are committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer

- Ruth Mattingly (01653 658203) mattinglyturner@gmail.com

If you have concerns about the immediate safety of someone (adult or child), please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

POLICE: 999

SOCIAL SERVICES EMERGENCY DUTY TEAM:

0300 131 2 131 (ADULT OR CHILD CONCERNS)

The following situations would require immediate action:

  • When a child or vulnerable adult has sustained injuries as a result of abuse that require urgent medical attention (ensure that the child/vulnerable adult sees a doctor);
  • When a child or vulnerable adult is refusing to return home because of the abuse (contact Children’s Social Care/Adult social care or the Police);
  • When a child or vulnerable adult has disclosed that there is a likelihood of them suffering significant harm on returning home (contact Children’s Social Care/Adult social care or the Police).

Any non-immediate safeguarding concerns in a parish should usually be brought to the attention of your local Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO) or parish priest in the first instance.
